The article Resurrecting the red: Pete Seeger and the purification of difficult reputations Minna Bromberg; Gary Alan Fine was very insight and it opened my mind to whole different genre of music that I never heard before. The article was mainly about  how ones reputation changes from being negative to positive, so used the very interesting singer named Pete Seeger . Now Pete Seeger was a very controversial person in his earlier year , for instance he was a member of the communist party  and he supported the Nazi – Soviet pact , yet in latters years he defended civil rights and pushed for environmental cleanup. Therefore the researchers look over four decades that Pete Seeger reputation has change and the common them I got from reading this part article was that Pete Seeger reputation change because the type of people he surrounded his with. Thus causing his reputation go from negative to positive over the years, so that's how he was able to become an American icon.
