Rivera

Vanesa Rivera

My interview with my classmate was on September 24, 2014. The interview was about a documentary called "Lost Angels Skid row is my home", and we had to interview a classmate about how the culture diamond was used in the documentary. My interviewee had mentioned that most of the people living in skid row seemed to have some kind of attachment with Skid row. They didn't seem to be sad, mad, or scared that their were living on the streets. So my interviewee was shocked to see that because wouldn't we all be afraid to be in a situation like that? Of course, and I was also astonished why some people chose to be proud to live in Skid row. They were not ashamed that that's where they come from and that's who they were. She also never heard of Skid row until the video was shown in class. So that seemed to open her eyes and see how poor these people are living and just the fact that they are comfortable to be there was just shocking to my interviewee. I wish we could have had more time to ask her more about how she was feeling when watching the video and if she ever experienced interaction with a homeless person. For  my next interview, I want to practice more on asking my interviewee more on their feelings and thoughts instead of my feelings and thought because the interview is all about them.
