In the article, "Resistance Under the Black Light: Exploring the use of Music in Two Exotic Dance Clubs" the way that the article is set up is first introducing the topics that they are going to cover for an example, they go over how the dancers in these exotic dance clubs choose music that will sometimes show defiance towards the discrimination against their gender, persona, etc. The method in which this research came to be was that the full observer became a full participant but disclosed all information about the research due to safety precautions. Author spend 120 hours during a 3 month period actively participating as a customer in the dance club called "Glitters". At the other dance club, 'Flame" the author became an active participant, a dancer, and spent 340 hours observing the environment.
In the article, "The Words have Changed but the Ideology Remains the Same" is an article that "examines the use of misogynistic ideology in gangsta rap and traces the connection between its prevalence in rap and the larger cultural picture of African American women have been characterized historically'. This article examines how the term misogyny has had a role in society for many years. The term "misogyny" is the hatred or disdain of women. Misogyny happens when rap lyrics are being said with a purpose. Rap artists, mostly men, use their rap lyrics to boost themselves while degrading their female counterparts. This article shows how misogyny first started, in history, and how it started to decrease but the meaning is still there.
