Eminem's Construction of Authenticity is about how a white rapper stay's in the genre of rap. Eminem is a white rapper out of Detroit and breaks into the world of rap by the help of Dr. Dre. Most notably rap is dominantly loaded with black artist and heavily uses the N-word. Eminem did not have to use the N-word to get his career started, which is really impressive and gives credit to his authenticity. Many black artists supported and welcomed Eminem because he had talented and a good rapper. More predominantly he was associated as being a "real gangsta rapper" because of his violent misogyny. Eminem had several songs that expressed violent acts toward women. In Eminem's Devil's Night song it shows he used thirteen hatred lyrics toward women. A majority of Eminem's songs had violent misogyny messages. This gave credit to Eminem being a "real gangsta rapper". Another way Eminem was able to stay in the rap genre was the help from a black artist known as Dr. Dre. Overall, the use of violent misogyny and the help of Dr. Dre gave Eminem the poise to thrive in the rap genre.
