2nd post

Meganne Weissenfels

In Classification as culture: types and trajectories of music genres, music was separated into 4 different "genres" of which we would not typically consider as genres. Avante-Garde, Scene-based, Institutionalized, and Traditional were the four groups that all music was separated into. The music was called "punk rock" or "bebop" as well as these four sections, but it was these four that were truly focused on. The article illustrated how every music was apart of at least one of these groups, how most trended in a "AgSIT" order, and how it was surprising when some music started out as an Institutionalized type.
