Classroom interview #6 Marisol Hernandez

My interview was on December 8 2014 at around 3pm, we discussed about if the criminal justice system is fair. She agreed with me how the media impacts on how people see an issue. How they do not show the big picture in news on television or newspapers. She mentioned how race plays a factor of how the criminal justice system is seen unfair because of the minorities not rising up to become better people. Because  it is not african americans that were slaves but also hispanics, asians, etc. She stated how the asian should be an example to look up because they have made themselves better lives, not by forgetting what happened in the past but by moving on to the future. A current event that was talked about was the shooting of the african american 18 year old by a white police officer. I agreed with her of how blacks still have the mentality of retaining those past issues of slavery and oppression so much that they think of themselves of always being a victim. It's true because whenever they get accused of something they always say "it's because I'm black". I wanted to show her a video of a man that gives a very well insight about this theme. Here is the link to that video strongly recommend!
An interesting thing she talked about was that kind of event where they play the race cardisn't  actually unfairness, what is unfair is when a man died out of breath because the officer that was holding him down was doing it too excessively that the man died on the ground. But no big news was said about that interesting point. Concluding the interview the life that Michael Brown was his path that he himself chose to take and knowing very well the consequences of his actions so my interviewee said I don't feel sorry for him or any unfairness at all and I agreed because death was coming to that boy sooner or later by the wrong path he was heading towards.
