Rivera

Vanesa Rivera

On September 15, 2014, I interviewed my classmate and asked her questions regarding to homelessness, government, food, music, and poverty. I introduced myself to my interviewee and explained to her about the questions she was going to be asked and that she will also remain anonymous. so, we first talked about how serious was homelessness in her county and she said that she believed that it was a very serious issue. She also said that the reason of homelessness was because of people relying too much on the government. I asked her how often she sees a homeless person and she responded more than once a week. we also talked about if she gave food or money or both when she sees a homeless person and she said at least two to three times a year. She also answered that her interaction between a homeless person was nice and that she liked it. There was no judgment and was able to approach someone with ease. Our next topic was about music and so I asked my interviewee about all the different kinds of genres and asked her if she liked , disliked it, mixed feelings, or that you didn't know the genre. In her elaboration about why she had liked and disliked the music genres she replied that the music that she did like was music she grew up with. My interviewee was influenced by her parents and she was exposed to all kinds of music. So my interviewee accepted and liked most of the music genre because she said that she enjoyed their unique rhythms and talents. We then moved to our next topic which was crime and police. In this section my interviewee replied that she never experienced police misconduct because where my interviewee lived there just wasn't that much of illegal activity. She did mention that in her county she did believe police misconduct was a possibility but never had she witnessed it herself.  The next topic we discussed was about inequality and poverty, On inequality, my interviewee said that their still exists inequality because people don't seem to do nothing and that is why we still have it today. On our last topic on poverty, my interviewee felt neutral about people abusing the welfare system. She was unsure about the question so her answers were only neutral. Th at was the last question we were able to get to from the survey.
