My icati number was not in service anymore so I used my recorder on my phone to record this interview. The interview was done on December 3 at 3:17pm it was discussing the sacrifices one had to make because of tuition and ways to decrease it. He was very fortunate in not having to pay for tuition however the other education expenses such as housing, supplies, food were not. He had lived a low income life much like many college students experience especially after graudation where there are not that many available jobs out there. An interesting thing he mentioned was how students loan debt is much greater than credit card debt. It was shoking because there are many graudates who are about $100,000 in debt that during their lifetime they will not be able to pay it off. I can see that he is passionate about making education accessible because it has been instilled in the American culture that education should be given to everyone. A solution that he proposed as he stated "a bit democratic" to raise taxes because there is no possible way to improve this issue locally it has to be done colletively in order to maintain balance. I agree with that because we are investing in our future leaders and workers that will run this country and the consequences of not making it affordable for prospective students will decrease the productivity as a nation. Especially since I have seen that other countries are offering free tuition, this coul drive many citizens out of the United States which would be ironic because people have come to this nation for the american dream. Sooner or later they will start leaving to find a better place to work and get an education.
