Marissa Corpus Soc 142

In the article "The Words Have Changed but the Ideology Remains the Same: Misogynistic Lyrics in Rap Music", it speaks about the oppression of women, specifically of the African American race.  The authors have identified that many rap artists songs speak about the abusing women both sexually and physically.  Even though misogyny is not something new to the music industry, let alone the norms of past society, these rap artists are offered more deals in the media world for what they are speaking about in their songs.
