Eminem's Construction of Authenticity
This article reflects upon the well known rapper Eminem and how he deals with his "Authenticity." At first the article goes through how the rapper started life of and then he became famous and started doing well within the music industry. As I was reading threw the article a thought that I had came across was, Eminem is a White man and yet here he is talking about different races within his song(s).  "Eminem brings a huge cross-cultural appeal." When making music Eminem states that he makes sure his songs have an authenticity on them so that way they it is firmly grounded as a source of original rap.
Color-Blind Ideology and the Cultural Appropriation of Hip Hop
The article starts off with how white youths today within America are into hip hop and goes into the conversation about how this ties into color-blindness. To get a more accurate accounting for however many people were at the concerts they would count how many people would go to them. There are different believes about when hip hop had started and why it had existed, I like how Keys argues about where hip-hop originally came from the African bardic Tradition.
